"Laura makes the intangible tangible in these Earthscapes of pure powerful energy as that energy erupts from the Earth, energy that is in her paintings, manifest and tangible to the eye and vibrating with one's being" - Sabina Higgins, "Chasing Volcanos" Exhibition, Filmbase, December 2016 Read more...

"Laura's ...contemporary style has become one of the more easily recognisable of current Irish artists. She has cited as her influences artists such as Constable and Cezanne, although it is the influence of Turner which is probably the most apparent in her current works.
I have always painted colour, energy and vibrancy... When I start, I don't know how my paintings will finish, and that's exciting. I let the painting emerge, become it's own person.
In this regard, Laura Mulligan is not dissimilar to the great Irish Expressionist, Anne Madden and, like Madden, it is impossible to capture the energy, the wildness or the serenity in words." - Arts & Antiques, Sunday Tribune, 2008
