About Laura

Laura studied art in both Galway and Dublin followed by completing a B.A. in Psychology in which she wrote her thesis on the Psychology of Art. While completing an M.A. in Psychology, Laura was accepted into her first group show in the Armoury Gallery, Bank of Ireland. Due to growing interest in her paintings, coupled with an increasing desire to paint full time, she gave up a career in psychology to concentrate completely on art. A full time artist for the last ten years, she has become established as a sought after contemporary Irish artist with her work hanging in many public and private portfolios in Ireland and beyond.

Her unique paintings are immediately recognisable by her trademark vibrancy and energy. Her work has always been intriguing in that it is both abstract yet accessible and wild yet meditative.

Laura paints the meaning, the essence of the landscape, its shifting colours, moods and patterns. It is this unique approach that makes her work timeless and why she is often described as a contemporary Turner.

Laura is represented in a number of galleries and is a regular exhibitor at the annual art fair in the R.D.S. She has juct completed her second successful solo exhibition in The Dame Street Gallery, Dublin in December 2009. Laura's next solo exhibition opened on June 10th, 2010 in The Keeling Gallery, Clarendon Street, Dublin. (For details about paintings, contact Vincent at 086 3412331)
